Kingston, Iowa | There probably is a little venturi action going on there. I think the main thing is with the top part of the emt lets there always be an air space and lets the flow of air keep moving. That was my down fall on my first experiment, beans just packed in and the air wouldn't flow. Yes, when the box is full the air flow slows and the seed flow stops. Last year when I was having trouble with plugging, I actually put a y in one hose that wasn't having trouble and was able to feed two boxes with it. The air pressure just backed up the tube to the full box and the seed flowed to the one that needed it. The box lids fit loose enough that the air escapes under them.
I hear ya on the chains. That was my biggest problem this year. | |
