You can buy a decent digital voltmeter for under $100 and a good digital clamp-on ammeter for under $200. These two tools will help you analyze exactly what is going on.
Running 10 hp motors on my single phase system is tricky and it requires close supervision. When auguring wet corn, for example, we keep a clamp-on ammeter attached to a power wire continuously to keep from tripping breakers or destroying the 10 hp motor.
Bad electricity...................and belt conveyors??
