The 1530 is basically a box drill with Tru V planter units but it still use a feedroll type metering system and a tube brings it down in the rowunit when it places it in the ground you would need the 1535 which is basically the same thing only is has a metering unit down on the row unit with a mini hopper (kinda like the CCS planters have) that is feed from the drill box for planting and yes on those you can put a corn meter and plant corn with them however I don't think they were ever very popular because Deere only made them 2 or 3 years and them they quit making them so unless you find a used one you are out of luck.
