There's a reason for that........
In order to check the air pressure you have to operate that $%^& winch every few months and while it's down you can also lubricate it and check the air pressure. Otherwise you would just check the air pressure and find out the winch froze up 3 years later along a dark cold snowy road in the wee hours of the night. Pretty smart thinking huh???????????
