The old D8 & D9 Cat manifolds were about 6 ft. long, 50 or 60 lb., & about the only way to get them back on was to use all-thread for studs, bend them enough to get started thru the holes, & just pry & suck it up tight...never saw one break, but I don't know why..."good Cat iron", I guess...they were sometimes more than a complete hole off from end to end. Once it got warmed up a couple times it would fit better, those things would run red hot when working. Cat has a sealer for ex. gaskets, & it's easy to see why.
