Soutwest Ks. | I have been strip tilling for four years using an extra heavy duty mole knife made by Wako mfg, Enid, OK. I have been trying to go 8-10" deep in the fall on corn ground. Question: We have noticed particularly this spring major air pockets in the strip starting about 4" down to 8" or so. Do any of you think the mole knife is the culprit and would a regular knife work better? A DMI rep said there was more chance of anydrous burn if a regular knife was used versus a mole. True or not?
I farm in fairly heavy soils with quite a lot of clay. | |
