The 4840 is supported by Trimble. I don't know about the Versatile. Have you asked you local Trimble dealer (I am not a Trimble dealer)? If you're anywhere near Iowa, I'd recommend these guys. I purchase all of my Trimble products through them: http://www.heartlandtechnologies.com/
