Here is the low down on the new S-Lite. This product was designed to replace the Outback S introduced in 2000. The S2 was designed in 2005 as an upgraded replacement to the Outback S. The new S-Lite has many of the functions of the S and a few of the features of the S2 without the expandability to other Outback products, with the exception of the newly released AutoMate (autoboom shutoff). At the S-Lite's price point, expandability is limited. As mentioned above, Automate is the only product that will work with Automate. That means the Outback 360 will not work with the S-Lite. The Outback S Reman (factory remanufactured Outback S) is another option, priced at $995 while supplies last, which will work with the 360. It however has a 1 yr waranty rather than a 2 yr optional warranty. Hopefully that clears up some the confusion about the products.
