NW Central Ohio | ...I hate to suggest it, but testing every year is a good way to drive yourself batty. Like others have mentioned, soil tests vary so much, that testing every 3 years will end up giving you a more rational soil management plan. Put your results on a graph...a long term one, watch which way they're headed, not where they've been. Use the same soil test lab every time....some use different procedures and thus give different results. I really wonder about the feasability of micro-managing a soil fertility program. It seems to me that fertility doesn't reward the effort (except in the case of nitrogen) as much as good sound agronomics. | |
