Paxton, IL | I pull one with a MX180. It handles it great in no-till and pretty well in tilled ground. I have a heavy duty drawbar in mine, but most of those planters came with a drawbar helper that allowed you to hook your center link from the 3 point to the drawbar and tighten it up to help support the load.
The bigger thing I would wonder about is weight of the tractor. The boxcar magnums weren't the heaviest and I even ended up putting 1000 pounds on the rear end of my mx180 to help handle it. If you have all 3 hoppers full and pick the planter up, all the weight of the planter is behind the wheels and it wants to pick up on the rear of the tractor. MFWD helps with this as you can still keep moving, but weight on the back makes you feel a little better. | |
