Thanks for the feedback...to answer a few questions:

Jim, I notched the tile so I could mount the fencing to the pen side of the poles, thought that might be stronger, and I have a tendency to make things more complicated than they need to be. The poles are on 8' (+/-) spacings I put the fence in a few years ago...got the poles free and had the lumber sawed from some trees like Mark cut down. Also, on that note, used engine oil is a cheap way to seal a wood fence and give it a nice black look. As for concrete, would really like to do that next, 10' or so on the cow side and a few feet on my side to keep things clean; might look into the hog slat idea too.
