Manitoba, Canada | I agree with 150 also. I can understand it to a point though. I believe the salesman are usually given a certain size of window to try to stay within and after negotiating with someone who knows how business works, like 150, I am sure the price arrived at is below what the salesman is allowed to accept. However, I find the worst offenders are car dealerships. Some of the salesmen working are still wet behind the ears and I think they would still pull this stunt if you offered them more than what they wanted. I guess they get a lot of people through the doors who's major purchases in life are their cars and their houses. I think it is a tactic to make those with less experience who walk in feel like they are getting an incredibly good deal. To the rest of us the salesman is just an obstacle in the way of talking to the guy we should be dealing with. | |
