The thing is, all the inputs we buy for the farm have already had a value added, so we'd be paying the tax on all those inputs, and have no way to pass that cost on.   It's a simple fact that businesses are going to have to be allowed to deduct the costs of running that business.   I'm no fan of our present tax code, but don't come up with something worse.
