I split a planter on 93 day last year and channel cost me 25 bpa. Dekalb is most consistent on my farm. Channel is not bad.

U guys can look at these and tell me where all your favorite dekalb numbers are and then tell me where the Channel numbers are. Dekalb cost me a lotta bushels this year. I am sick of watching 52-59 greensnap and then blow down in the fall if you arent taking it at 20%. 53-78 will fall apart COC, They cant produce 52-04 just like they couldnt produce 50-35, which I loved and if you can get 52-04 you better plant in perfect conditions. 51-85 takes forever to drydown. 48-37 is just plain old. Its hard to get 50-66 and 48-12 is not worth $300 a bag. I can get 9917 or 0062 Pioneer for way less and blow it away.
I like 46-20, but I got sick of the high prices and then not know if you were going to get the stuff. Last year was my first year with Channel and I was really pleased. Even my Pioneer stuff beat the Dekalb by plenty this year for me. Paid $300 a bag for 50-77 and it didnt get here til the end of april and was my worst corn. I wish it wouldnt have gotten here.
Planting Channel, Wensman, Pioneer, some Croplan and a little LG if I can get it next year. |
