Hastings, Florida | Years ago I had a KW that would run fine all day long, until it came time to take an exit off the Interstate. Then it would die, and if we let it set for 15 minutes would re-start OK. Never shut off in a curve, just Interstate exits. Checked fuel tanks , nothing , shined flash light in tanks , nothing to be seen. Did it for several days, we finally decided to pull tank. Found a flat coin wrapper, like a bank uses to wrap nickels, in the tank. It was the same color as diesel, so could not see it when looking in tank opening. It would float over the intake tube, but only when the truck turned at a certain angle, and was slowing down, sharper turns it would not stay over the inlet, conditions had to be just right. Made us scratch our heads for a while. |
