I suppose. If you went on vacation for a few days and it got below freezing like it does here in Iowa, what would keep that thing from freezing solid? Seems like it'd be easier to put the thing inside the house and make one big hole for the exhaust vent. Maybe it's just my luck, but I'd want no part of trying heat water by sending it outside of my 4 heated walls.
