V(voltage)x I(current(amps)) = Power(watts)
Figure a typical 3hp motor, if your motor draws 19.2 amps on 120V, it uses 2300 watts.
The same motor would draw 9.6 amps at 240V, still uses 2300 watts.
The only benefit of running a dual voltage motor on the higher voltage would be to reduce wiring and breaker size.
