| I ended up asking for a conference with her and the school counselor. I told her my concerns and she seriously changed her demeanor with the counselor present. She said the homework was only "suggested" and meant to be used as an "as needed" reinforcement aid. I didn't argue with her but after the conference told the counselor and principal this was the first time I'd heard that. A couple of days later there were notes sent home explaining that homework is not mandatory but it is encouraged to work on areas that need improvement. The only "requirement" is his AR book, sight words, and that days lesson review. I appreciate all the suggestions. I was frantic when I posted. I'm glad I did too or else I might not have had the courage to confront her. | |
