Subject: mowing sprouts and thorns

Just outside downtown Prairie Hill
I need to clean up some pastures. Mostly hedge sprouts with a very few thorn type sprouts. I am thinking of getting some older tires for my tractor and putting in a good bit of stop leak. I'm wondering how long the thorns and other sharp items will cause me trouble down the road. I think beating the sprouts off with a bush hog will shatter and kill most of them. May have to do it again down the road. I know clipping them off one at a time would be better. I've thought it would be better for a number of years....looks like it's not going to happen that way. Any thoughts or experiences? TIA
