SW Iowa
*I* much prefer the pilot controls in the Cat, over the electronic "pilot" controls in the new Deere. The new Deere has a huge deadband in the controls, much like an old skidsteer with worn linkage-compared to the Cat. The new Deere I have ran has superior view of the cutting edge, and maybe a slightly nicer cab. The new Deere I have ran is new, and our Cat is 1119 hrs. I personally like the cab, it keeps a lot of dirt and especially snow off the operator. The drawback to a skidsteer with a door, is every job is a two person job mainly, you can't get out of the cab without the loader all the way up or all the way down. Not that that is a bad idea by anymeans. I think you will find once you have skidsteer and some attatchments, you will need a dedicated trailer to haul it around and you will use the snot out of it.
