I have been feeding plastic to my cattle in the form of ground hay that was net wrapped bales. Now you have me worried that it is not OK. Can you provide me with some information on it that says it is harmful? Has a cow ever died from from eating hay that has been processed this way? Should I cancel the the hay grinder truck that is coming today?

Actually now you mention it i had heard some time this summer that a guy had lost a bunch of cows to a build up of net wrap in the guts , But obviously its only hearsay so i have no proof .

We had always been using twine up until this year at work and i could never see any twine in the hay pile now we are using net wrap its nothing to go and pull a big chunk of net out of the pile .
