Belmont WI
I've been doing that for the last 10 years, I wouldn't do it any other way. I usually put 40-55 gal of 28 or 32 what ever is cheaper. I used JD single disk coulters for 9 years 4 inches off row, they are still for sale. In 12 I switched to split tubes out the back in front of closing wheels, totally tubular. Biggest problem is getting that volume of product on with planter it is slow and you need a full time tender truck system. I'm set up to plant about 40 acres per fill depending on what product I'm using. One thing to remember is the CEC rule of units of N at one time. CEC times 10. ex. CEC of 12 only 120 units at one time. The only other N is AMS 100-150lbs acre, but gypsum is a cheaper source of S and I didn't see a difference last year using gypsum instead of AMS.
