SW MO | I currently have a fully weighted Deere 9400 strapped to it, and it makes all of the 425 hp it's rated at and then some. Man, if wanna talk about pulling the guts out something, it does. 7.5 mph full throttle is all it wants at 6 degrees and 3" working depth. With the hyd adjustment you can just feel the horsepower disappearing as you rotate the gangs. I run a 34' Case 330 on a 9300 (360 hp) and it handles it with power to spare at the same speed or faster. With the 9400 on the 330 I rarely exceed 1800 rpm to obtain 7 mph of ground speed. With the GP behind it, full throttle isn't enough. Personally, I wouldn't dream of a 40' model. I think a 35' would be the limit for your tractor if you want to have any sort of flexibility in working depth and groud speed. I'm usually quite bullish on equipment width vs. horsepower, more so than mfg. recommendations at least. In this case though, less is more. In regards to machine width I mean. | |
