I have no idea how to possibly speak out on this subject to the public that is completely clueless. Sure ethanol isnt the sure fire answer to all our problems but we need it till we can find something better. I have used 10% ethanol for as long as we could get it on the farm and have never had issues that alot of people blame it for. Run it in everything chainsaws, mowers, ice augers, boat motors, 6 tractors. Sure it does seem to degrade a bit if it sits for a year or more but add some new and good to go. Some people act like if it sits a week it ruins their engine and on and on. No one seems to realize its no longer subsidized, and no one seems to have any facts on what it takes for production. Some say it takes 1 gallon of diesel to make a gallon of ethanol. Its only gonna get worse with the bashing and when anyone tries to post facts they just say that is just what the ethanol industry says to make it look good. And then if any university publishes something and they say it was funded by corn producers or any one associtated with any ag they will just say that of course they found something to support it. People are starting to hate farmers cause we have finally started making money. Remember we are supposed to be poor and feed the world. They dont feel the job we do is important. Maybe they need to starve or go take the places of our service men and women if they dont think our jobs are important. But then they would complain about this then too and blame the farmer for doing a crappy job. I just hope someone can get thru to these people case there is so many of them and before long they will get enough power to really put the sqeeze on everything we do. And also, for the livestock and dairy guys. Your products are wayyy to cheap also. And there again, they would do nothing but complain if you were getting what you should for your product.
