| Assuming a mechanical linkage....
Loose cab mounts or worn clutch release linkage...specifically the pivot bearings/bushings in the cross shaft of the clutch pedal are frequently to blame.
Loose clutch linkage bracket bolts can cause it too if the bracket shifts.
You could have a cracked or broken linkage that flexes intermittently.
I've also seen truck frames weak enough or broken that the pedal will actually move up and down as the truck drives over uneven ground and the frame rails flex.
Worn thrust bearing on the engine's crankshaft can do it too, but that generally causes a consistant problem.
Hydraulic clutch release system can have a number of causes including most of the same items as above with the mechanical system. | |
