Eastern SD | I'm not really 'in that life' anymore, but RAID 0 for two SSD's struck me as odd/interesting. Seems going from a regular HDD to SDD would be a massive improvement in access times, but RAID 0 for SSD's wouldn't improve access time much/any? With SSD there is no waiting for the mechanics of the drive to be ready to read/write data. RAID 1 would give you redundancy which I can see (are SDD's more/less reliable than HDD's)?
Maybe the RAID 0 is just the cheapest way to get 1 drive for the OS that has ~200 GB capacity? |
