Subject: Striptill: spring vs fall

Central Iowa
First of all I believe I can make a good strip either way with my soil types, but my question is spring strip conditions at planting. With a fall strip the strip will weather down and have to naturally dry out before planting like any other bare soil. A spring strip allows the strip to be "aired out" mechanically right before planting giving the more traditional fluffy seed bed. Fall strips are nice because it's out of the way but do you feel quality of seedbed is sacrificed? Also will a fall strip that has had time to sit back down be less prone to spring erosion?
