Don't retract it unless you never sell on ebay or unless you have a very high positive rating with a lot of reviews.
Put it down under the "continuing education expenses."
If you get one bad review and you don't have a lot of reviews it really hurts your rating. A positive rating with positive reviews means that when go to sell an item you get top dollar.
If you never sell then (IMHO) your rating doesn't really matter all that much.
Here is a story to make you feel better.
I was once bidding on Vintage Tonka Firetruck. It was the cool kind that you can hook up to the garden hose and spray water. No one was bidding so I put in $35 late in the auction.
But, just as I was bidding my wife walked into the room. I was bringing home a few too many vintage toys at that point in time and I didn't really want to make a big deal out of what I was doing. So I just hit "ok" on the review your bid screen.
I won the auction at $150.
When I got the notice I kind of freaked out and went back to see what I bid.
I hit the zero key too many times and somehow bid $3,500!!!!!!
I keep that truck on display, not because I love the truck, it is an example of "continuing education credits."
