NW Iowa. / SW Arizona | Nice thing about going at an angle is if for some reason one of the knifes get plugged you won't have a 60" gap the whole length of the field on one row with no anhydrous applied. I had the prime example this fall I was going at an angle on 1/2 mile rows & I happened to notice a little puff of gas escaping once in a while from one row. I went back to investigate & sure enough one of the knives had gotten bent up a little & the knife wasn't going into the ground like it should have plus the tube behind the knife was bent at a 90 degree almost cutting off the gas. I'm not sure how long this had been going on but I suspect I might see some streaks in the corn next summer. Time will tell. | |
