NW illinois | I don't farm but my dad does. he cash rents all of his ground that he farms and when ya lose a farm it hurts a little. he just had 270 acres that he farms get sold and had been farming it for 24 yrs, he wanted to buy it but just can't come up with the money. Its not looking good for him as far as being able to get on there to farm it again. With that said is the hard working honest farmer ever gonna be able to afford land again or is it just gonna keep going up. this particular farm sold in three different tracts. 200 of it went for 12000, 100 acres went for 7500 and my dads farm went for 7200. Just curious on peoples thoughts on this issue? My dad probably could have stretched it and maybe came up with enough money for down payment but just didn't want the risk of maybe not being able to pay the rest off. | |
