Subject: advice from notillers

cen - texas
I leased 300 ac from a neighbor that has not been farmed for about 15 years. This is good river bottom land that we farm around. The earthworms and soil structure are wonderful. Weeds are tall . Started shredding but that is leaving alot of long stalks that will give me the blues at planting How much damage will I do if I disc it to chop the long stalks and smooth out all the cow tracks? Looking for any ideals to get this ready for my notill striptill program. Thanks Ps The land is dry now.
