Whiskey, Tango, Foxtrot
I'm a long ways from Victorville, but been through there a few times. Not sure if it is becoming a bedroom community for LA now or what. High desert, dry. It is medium sized city, but it gets pretty sparsely populated N and E of there. Doubt traffic would be too bad, still at least an hour drive from LA. Not much agriculture in that area, a few isolated farms where there is groundwater to pump. I bought a tractor from a guy near there who had several pivots of alfalfa, he sold the water out to LA and now the land is dry. It is about two hours over to the San Joaquin Valley.

If your driving I doubt it is any further than Herlong and traffic wouldn't be any worse on the drive except you'll have to go through Vegas. Traffic would get worse west of Victorville, but you'd miss all of that coming from your direction.
