The best outside antenna I've found to use is just a "stick type" automotive fm antenna. Something like tractor cabs have now. Don't need telescoping, just single piece. Spring bottom not necessary either. If there's any way to keep coax to minimal length, it will help you. You may have to buy coax extension if stick antenna doesn't have enough wire.
