Subject: Re: 36 or 30 Corn

A 1974 era ISU extension bulletin on growing corn said that 30" corn is more profitable than 36" corn. I last grew some 35" corn about 1994. Since then I've been growing 30" corn as my tenant now does.

Stine seed is working with very high populations in 12" rows to get the yield up towards or over 300 bushels per acre saying only high populations will achieve that and they have planter and corn head already for that row spacing.
