West Central IL | We enjoy looking at everybody's cattle and farm pictures so took a few pics this morning and sharing. The feed rations for the cows and younger calves is a mixture of glutten (Clinton, IA), 40 bales wheat straw shredded and silage. The corn silage was lacking protein, so we are using a combination mixture of these ingredients. The fats are on corn, protein pellets, pelletized glutten and grass bales.
The cow herd is all colors and run Angus bulls with the ladies. The younger calves at the bunks are some of the sons and daughters from the cows. The fats were purchased at local sale barn in April, put on pasture in May and because of the heat and dry weather, moved to feed floor early August.
Thanks, REDLEG
