First off we don't farm ground like that, no sand or really very much light soil at all so take this for what it's worth. I would say that money would be much better of as yield monitor, that thing will pay year after year, over and over and over again. Just a great tool and will help decide management zones for the future, helps with testing things you didn't even think made a difference in corn and soybean production.

Your really not going to know if variable rate planting is making or costing you money without a yield monitor.
