Subject: Re: Wheat planted back to back

Nc Ks.
In my part of Ks. I've planted 3 years in a row. Our biggest problem used to be cheat, however they have chemicals to control that now if you have a problem. Was always taught in my younger days that to prevent disease, there had to be no straw at planting time. Hence, the plow or burning. Plow gave way to the chisel plow and the past few years I've just disked. A lot of guys around here no-till right back into standing wheat stubble now and seem to be getting along. I think disease is the biggest threat going back to back, regardless of what method you choose.
