Subject: RE: Wheat planted back to back

West Tennessee
Dwayne, I have a neighbor who has planted winter wheat and beans behind it for about 3 years or more on probably 800 acres. I haven't noticed them doing anything special but he's sort of a...... how would you say........follows the beat of his own drummer....type. His proclaimed yields are hard to believe but he makes a decent crop of each for sure. He normally burns the wheat stubble but this year it was SO dry he did not burn all of it. He gets in and gets his wheat out about as soon as possible, which would obviously make sense. I probably wouldn't recommend this practice but like I said he makes it work. For me the weed control in the wheat and beans could get interesting. Give it a try on a few acres maybe?
