I think they should stop all tiling and close all surface inlets including storm sewers in the urban areas. It might make it a little inconvenient for the city dwellers...but think of all the new wetland additions that would be created when the drought ends. And they'd be right where all the nature lovers live, too instead of out back in some field that can't even be seen from the gravel road.
I wonder if this has anything to do with that announcement a while back that Minnesota was going to set an example for other states by proactively working with the govt on wetlands, etc. When I saw that the first thought I had was oh, boy, we're in for it now. Why can't we be a state that wants to set an example for helping businesses to be more productive without more layers of onerous rules and regulations?
