Woodbury county | Had a neighbor several years ago that had problem with his neighbors cows constantly getting into his cornfield. He finally called the county sheriff and had him come out and look at what was constantly happening......sheriff went to see the neighbor with the cows constantly getting out and told him to keep the cows at home, or else his cows would be locked up at the cornfield owners place and would be kept there until the cows feed bill was paid and any damages were paid to the cornfield. Any delay in paying damages, after a certain length of time, the cows could be sold to reimburse any damages the cows caused, and remaning money would be paid to the farmer who owned the cows. | |
