Is the plug he is asking about under the dash?
The truck could be pre wired for an auxiliary switch and could be operational with the correct switch to connect with a plug under dash and a fuse.
If he is talking about a plug on front of trailer, then the question is where and what do the rest of the lines do? Could power abs systems, be wires to trip gates, run hydraulics or any number of possible combinations.
This is why you ask for clarity. Newer trucks and trailers with computers all over them, throw power around can be a very costly thing.
