Subject: Re: Wiring trailer air lift tag in truck

Near-north Ontario, French River
Position of the axle , and number of axles on the trailer comes into play as well. For what its worth most guys around here wire theirs to lower when power is applied, that way if you lose power to the solenoid the axle lifts. If its a rear axle on the trailer it probably doesn't really matter which way its wire but if the axles is mid-mount ( between drives and rear trailer axles" the last thing you want happening is an axle dropping if you are empty. Trailers can't do some strange things when pivoting on a lift axle at 60mph LOL... FWIW I've never come across a commercial trailer with anything but a 7 wire plug, so is the 4 wire plug an auxiliary plug intended for the lift/gates/tarps/traps etc?
