SE IL and SW IN
I assume that you are a pilot in Illinois. Remember Illinois is a long state and the performance of radishes varies greatly from Cairo to Rockford. South Rt 50 radishes can capture more than 50#N in a COC situation. North of 36 that number is usually less than 10#. Either way any cover crop is a poor bet to efficiently capture applied N in the fall in a COC environment due to the short period of time available. (The economics are different for residual N.) Again I would suggest that you do some homework NOW and evaluate stands of radishes and other covers in your service area. You can get a better idea of the potential than by reading about it here and the literature. If you need help on making those contacts, my e-mail is good.
