NNW Nebraska
If you got the manure available, put 20 tons on the whole field and possibly double that on the sandy part.

I wish I had a close source of manure here in nw Nebraska. Everything we grow is in sand.
I figure that my pivots need to water 2 times a week, but don't go to fast or you loose to much to evaporation if not getting most of a inch on per lap.

My brother has leveled some sand hills in his pivots and grows good corn there. This is a small pivot that is used as a feed lot in the winter. He spreads manure from the bunk areas to the leveled areas with his dirt scraper, laying it on several inches deep. He hires some truck spreaders to cover the remainder of the field.

Also, are you applying most of your fertilizer through the pivot as the crop needs it?
