central - east central Minnesota - | rupert - 11/22/2012 10:23Have a field that has a pivot on it and is generally sandier. Most of the field produces pretty well but there is about 10 acres were it is really sandy and even with water its hard to keep up with it. Could a guy spread corn stalk bales out and till them in? Would that help any? I also thought about getting some cattle manure and putting it on pretty thick, like 20tons/acre. Any other ideas? thanks Is it possible to use the new technology for pivots that increase water rate at the nozzle, so at those sandy areas get more water? Is not enough water the problem or is the area getting " washed" out? As someone pointed out, adding soil or compost will help. |
