Bought this vermeer used in 09 after giving it alot of thought and quickly learned we had made the right decision. Hay savings alone will pay for the machine. We have used it in the stalks to feed in windrows, in tires and in fence line bunks not to mention bedding sheds and once even put some straw on a acre of garlic for a neighbor. Now it is used to grind bales ahead of mixing in a vertical mixer. In hindsight, one of the easiest decisions ever. You will not regret it. We spread much less manure in the spring now and dont have the mess of the bale rings to clean up and we never take the net wrap off the bales. It will shred a hard frozen bale much quicker than you could ever get the wrap or twine off. The only trade off is daily feeding instead of putting our a bunch of bales and we were allready out and going everyday anyhow so that didnt change much for us. | |
