Friend of mine milked 40 cows, very cheaply. He would somehow lay out plastic on the ground then run off the silage in a big wind row. I don't know if he ran over it to pack it or what. Then he would fold over the plastic and seal it with dirt. It was a bag, I saw no waste. He did ground ear corn like this too. Guy was very tight and paid for a farm with 40 cows.
