The young cows IF you have enuff feed and pasture, cows will eat over twice what those 600-700lbrs are eating. And you need grass. If just shorterm Id buy the feeders. I really think if it stays dry this cow thing will be cheap next spring, wont be able to hardly give them away, there will be no grass here if no rain or lots of snow this winter. I sold a bunch of young red angus cows last fri at the barn, 5-6 yr old cows bred to red angur or charlois bull, just didnt fit my criteria, we culled hard, they brought $1k even and were 6 months along, good cows and in top condition, I think with no moisture, they will just get cheaper.
