Leave it in the field, get loads of broiler litter, 3 or 4 tonnes an acre at least,spread over residue in the field and then leave. We grow carrots that are covered with straw to protect them from frost overwinter. There is about 20t/acre of straw on them, we disc the straw in about 3 or 4 passes to get some soil mixed in then spread 4 t/acre of litter then mouldboard plough it in.
