DugJ - 11/21/2012 11:39 what wood has the best aroma when burning?

My Father told the story of when his brother and he helped their Father split wood for the stoves and the cookstove as well. Grandfather told them, "First we will split some oak and hickory, then finish up with some teasing wood."

I asked my Father what kind of wood was teasing wood, and he told me Grandfather instructed them that Sasafras was a quick burning wood for making morning biscuits, and left a smell in the house that put Grandmother in the mood after the family left the house for school.

I tried teasing wood in my fireplace, really didn't leave that much good smell in my opinion, and definately did not put my wife in the mood for teasing. Perhaps you have to eat some home made buscuits first?
